Recorded with Daniel Paz aka Danny Lango the man himself by Justin and Forrest at their stuio in Siloam Springs, AR the springish? of 2013. It's the best recordings I've ever heard him/them do and I've been best friends with these denguses for all of my life. I am prouder than a mom or dad, and more pleased than a grandfather or grandmother.
On a more serious note, I met Dan my freshman year in high school. We ended up running track together my sophomore year, and I then skipped a grade and ended up dating his older sister to the present. Funnily enough, we are all still great friends I and the Pazzes, and plan to be g-REAT friends for life.
Dan's music struck me the moment I first heard it, in an odd and quirky way, like some treasure undiscovered that would never be so. It was dusty and fresh at the same time, like a crystal clear dusk. I enjoyed it so much in my heart and ears that it inclined me to try and create music as close as possible to this sound Dan was so profoundly blessed with. When you listen to this cassette, you will notice my failure, and be just as provoked as I was (and still am) to try your hardest to be Daniel Paz.
This certain collection of songs, entitled "Lango", swerves back and forth from Dan's typical solo style, to his freshly engaged full band ensamble, and back to solo and so on and so forth. It is chock full of desperate, lonely brilliance, and quirky, friendly bitterness.
This bittersweet taste is what makes Dan such a great person, friend, and musician.
This cassette is the fruit of his labor.
This, is Lango.
